“I was born and raised in Australia and left for a working holiday at the age of 23. This led to spending many years in the UK and USA working and traveling the world. I worked for 30+ years as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings and thoroughly enjoyed my career. I retired in 2017 and reconnected with my early love for art.

I’ve been a full time professional artist working out of my home art studio in Monroe, NC since 2017. In my pursuit of the artistic endeavor, I have explored multiple mediums and find my expression involves a lot of color. My work reflects an evolving style, however, color is always very important. I enjoy adding a unique perspective to my work in order to make each piece memorable, I love trying new thing even if I am not sure of the result. “

Kenya – A place far away and unknown to many… a place that is easy to ignore because who cares about this place or the children there… Then, someone does. Someone sees. Behind the veneer of "the unknown" is something that looks strangely familiar. It's in their eyes and on their faces and in their potential. That thing is HOPE. We believe that every child matters, despite their geographical location, situation and lack of ability to help themselves. We are about more – more than just helping a child have food, although that's essential. We are about every child having hope. This effort, this hope, Hope For Kajiado, is about taking "it takes a village to raise a child" thing seriously. It commands that we all find our village - to bring hope to our children - to make sure they are fully alive. That they thrive and have hope. And for us, we join our hope with theirs. Can you see them? If so, can you turn away? Come, join our village! Perhaps this is the first time you’ve heard of Kajiado, or maybe you have been a child sponsor for many years! Now is the time for us all to come together for a wonderful evening of creating a water color painting for you to take home! Join us at Artsy Studio on Friday, 10/12 at 7:30pm, and you will not only be helping the children in Kajiado, but also helping a new business in our community! Cost of $35 includes all materials and instruction. We will provide door prizes, beverages and snacks.
